Two labourers die of asphyxiation, 2 hospitalized

Pulwama: Two labourers were found dead at a rented house in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday morning, a police official said.
They duo was identified as Nisar Ahmad Kalas son of Shah Ali Kalas and Mohammad Ashraf Kalas sons of Abdul Haleem, residents of Abhama Pulwama. Police said that they died due to asphyxiation.
They added that two more labourers were found unconscious in the room, who have been hospitalized.
The two unconscious persons were identified as Mohammad Amin and Riyaz Ahmad also from Abhama Pulwama.
Meanwhile, Minister for Finance Dr Haseeb Drabu expressed grief over the accidental death of two labourers due to suffocation.
The minister assured every possible support the next of kin of the deceased. He said concerned Assistant Labour Commissioner has been directed to extend every possible support to the families.
He also assured that the Jammu and Kashmir Building and Other Construction Workers’ Welfare Board (JKBOCWWB) would provide the financial relief to the families as per the existing schemes for the labourers.
