Ghalib makes his mom proud, scores a distinction in class 12 exams

Baramulla: Ghalib Afzal Guroo, son of Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal Guroo Thursday passed Class 12th Board exams, with a distinction.

Ghalib Afzal Guru scored an impressive 441 marks in the 12th standard examinations conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Examination.

A student of Shah Rasool Memorial Welkin Sopore, Ghalib credited his success to his lone parent Tabassum Guru.

 “It was the best day of my life, when I saw the smile on my mother’s face,” Ghalib said. His mother wants him to become a doctor just like his father had wished for him.

“He always wanted him to be a doctor, rather a heart specialist and I will try my level best to fulfill his dream”, says Tabassum Guru.

Galib has secured distinction with 88.2 percentages of marks in Science subject the result of which were declared today by the board. He has secured 441 marks out of 500.

“I have prepared well for the NEET exams and if I did not qualify the exams, I will peruse graduation and after that prepare for the civil services,” Ghalib said.

Meanwhile, good wishes continued to pour in for Ghalib from unexpected quarters.

“A big shoutout to Ghalib Afzal Guroo on clearing his 12th class exams with flying colours- 441 marks. Ghalib has definitely proven “When the going gets tough, the tough get going”. All the best for the future endeavours! Rise and shine!,” Sarah Hayat Shah, Additional spokesperson of National Conference (NC) wrote on Twitter.

Interestingly, NC was in power when his father Mohammad Afzal Guru was hanged in New Delhi’s Tihar jail in 2013.

Meanwhile, a high level delegation headed by senior Hurriyat leader and Jammu and Kashmir salvation movement chairman Zaffar Akber Bhat today visits residence of Ghalib Afzal Guru and congratulates Galib for brilliant success in 12th class exams.

Hurriyat (M) chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq congratulated Ghalib on his results.

“Congratulation to all students who cleared class 12th exams .Happy to know about Ghalib Guru son of Shaheed Afzal Guru doing so well,” he tweeted.

Ghalib was just one year old when his father Afzal Guru was arrested for parliament attack case.
