JKSSDM to start PMKVY Skill Training
Jammu: J&K State Skill Development Mission (JKSSDM) has invited EOI (Expression of Interest) for empanelment of training partners for conducting skill development training programs under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) in the state of J&K.
PMKVY is the flagship outcome-based Skill Training Scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE).Under PMKVY, JKSSDM will be training around 47000 candidates for the next three years in various skills and sectors such as IT, ITeS, hospitality, food processing etc.
The training imparted at PMKVY Training Centres (TCs) is aimed to benefit candidates either school/college dropouts or unemployed. Apart from providing training according to the National Skills Qualification Framework (NSQF), TCs shall also impart training in soft skills, entrepreneurship, financial and digital literacy. Duration of the training varies per job role, ranging between 150 and 300 hours and upon successful completion of their assessment, candidates shall be provided placement assistance by Training Partners (TPs). Under PMKVY, the entire training and assessment fees are paid by the Government.

It is a well-known fact that the unemployment situation in J&K state has attained monstrous proportions and in this regard the Government of J&K, in one of its skill building initiatives has constituted JKSSDM to integrate skill development programs in J&K and train/mentor semi-skilled and unskilled youth and connect them with the job market.
