Entrepreneurial ventures must for tackling unemployment: Minister

Jammu: Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment, Choudhary Lal Singh, today called upon the unemployed youth to start their own ventures for earning a dignified livelihood and become job providers rather than job seekers.

The Minister was speaking at an inaugural function of Chaska Live Food Restaurant at Kunjwani, here today.

The Minister said that entrepreneurial ventures are an effective instrument in tackling the mounting unemployment menace in the state,  while emphasizing optimal utilization of government schemes by the youth.

Choudhary Lal Singh asked the unemployed youth to start their own ventures for earning a dignified livelihood, adding that for this purpose Government has launched number of welfare schemes. He said that Government provides loans on subsidy basis to unemployed youth of the State for establishment of small and large scale industries through KVIB, KVIC on minimal rate of interest. He called upon the unemployed youth to avail the benefits of such schemes in opening their own ventures.

The Minister stressed upon the officers to provide proper information and guidance to the unemployed youth so that they can avail the benefits of various self-employment schemes. He said that the employment fairs being organized across the state, besides establishment of counselling centers was an important step taken by the Government in providing vital information to the youth regarding employment opportunities. He exhorted for making these counselling centers fully functional so that the targeted lot was benefitted.
