First ever thrombolysis performed at SDH Magam

Srinagar: A 60 year old female was Tuesday admitted in Emergency Room(ER) of Sub District Hospital (SDH) Magam and diagnosed as a case of Anterior Wall MI (Heart Attack).

The patient was managed and intervened as per the protocol and thrombolysis was performed successfully. The patient was stabilised and referred to SMHS Hospital where the patient is reportedly doing good.

The team which performed thrombolysis included Dr Nasir Shamas (Consultant Physician), Bashir Ahmad, Shabir Ahmad, Abdul Rashid(ER Paramedic Staff).

The “Save Heart Initiative” launched by the Directorate on 21st December 2017 envisages to cover all major peripheral hospitals including Sub District Hospitals (SDHs) in network of peers with cardiologists Dr Imran Hafeez & Dr Irfan Bhat, wherein managing of cardiac emergencies will be established  before referring them to Major City Hospitals. The initiative more over focuses on upgrading cardiac emergency skills of medical officers posted across Kashmir Division.

Director Health Services, Kashmir Dr Saleem ur Rehman has appreciated the hospital administrator Dr Tahir Sajad, Cardiologists and the ER Team.
