Sopore shuts against ‘rising theft’ incidents
Sopore: A complete shutdown was Wednesday observed in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district to protest against the failure of administration in curbing the ‘rising theft cases’ in the area.
The shutdown call was given by the Traders Federation Sopore headed by Haji Muhammad Ashraf Ganai on Tuesday following the fire incident in Sopore, which he claimed was set by the burglars after looting the shops.
All the shops, business establishments remained closed throughout the day while the traffic was plying normally on the roads.
Meanwhile, Sopore Police on late last night registered two FIR s (2/2018 and 3/2018) in the burglary and blaze incidents.
The police also constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to trace the missing goldsmith, who is missing from last nine days.
A Special investigation Team (SIT) has been constituted by SSP Sopore to trace out the missing shopkeeper Tariq Ahmad Malik from Sopore.
The team will be headed by SDPO Sopore, Mashkoor Ahmad while the other members of the team include SHO Sopore, Mudasir Geelani and two sub- inspectors, Javeed Ahmad and Sajad Ahmad.
Pertinently, the Shopkeeper is missing since the evening of Dec 26from his Jewelry shop at Chota Bazar in main town Sopore.
