Munwar residents demand power supply
Srinagar: Residents of Munwar area Wednesday blocked the movement of traffic on the busy crossing in the uptown city for nearly an hour to draw attention of the authorities to the erratic power supply in the area.
Demanding power supply to the area, men, women and children of the localities came on roads and blocked all the four lanes to prevent movement of traffic on the crossings which connects the uptown city with downtown and Dalgate areas, eyewitnesses said.
Police officers pleaded with the agitating residents to remove the blockade and allow traffic to ply but they did not listen. However, after the authorities assured them that they will take up the matter with the concerned authorities, the residents lifted the blockade. (Kashmir Wire)
