Handwara: Hundreds attend last rites of slain Unisoo youth

HANDWARA: Hundreds of people, including women and children, gathered at Unisoo village of Handwara to attend the last rites of Arif Ahmad who was shot dead by unknown gunmen in Sopore outskirts on late Wednesday evening.

Men and women lined the streets as the body of 25-year-old Arif was being marched towards a local ground in Unisoo village. The people shouted pro-Azadi, pro-Islam and pro-Pakistan slogans as the body was marched through the village. He was laid to rest amid at his ancestral graveyard in Unisoo village.

Slain Arif was a salesman at a pharmaceutical agency and is survived by an old age father, three sisters and two brothers.
