Sopore fire incident:  Traders Federation calls for shutdown on Wednesday

Sopore: Traders Federation Sopore led by president Haji Mohammad Ashraf Ganai has called for a shutdown on 3rd January Wednesday against the administration for failing to stop increasing rate of theft cases in the town.

In a press conference at Main Chowk Sopore, Ganai said that the local administration gives them tough times as they completely failed to stop increasing rate of theft cases in the town.

He said that more than two dozen shops gutted in a fire mishap which were first looted by burglars then set them ablaze during Monday night and destroyed property worth lakhs,

Ganai said that administration has completely failed to save the town from miscreants who are not only burning shops but are looting as well.

He appealed the people of Sopore to register a complete shutdown on Wednesday 3rd January ‘so that administration will wake up from the deep slumber’.

At least one dozen shops and a restaurant were gutted in a massive fire incident in Sopore town.

According to reports mysterious fire engulfed and damaged one dozen shops at general bus stand Sopore on Tuesday wee hours.

Reports said that the fire mysteriously broke out from a poultry shop of Manzoor Ahmad Khan and spread to nearby shops at about 5.30 am on Tuesday.

Consequently, one restaurant and nearly a dozen other shops were completely damaged and goods worth lakhs rupees was also destroyed.

However, fire tenders with the help of locals rushed to the spot to douse the flames.
