SBM employees protest to demand regularization

Baramulla: Scores of contractual employees working under Saakshar Bharat Mission (SBM) on Saturday staged protest in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district to press the government over their demands of regularization.
The SBM employees assembled at Kirapa Park and chanted slogans against the government. They were demanding the incumbent regime to fulfill their demands.
They said that the government should up with a proper similar to the other daily wagers and casual labours in the state.
The protesters said that there is no job policy for them. “The government made a road map for daily wagers but ignored us completely,” the protesting employees of SBM claimed.
President of SBM employees said that they are serving the department from six to seven years by various means like academic support in schools, Adhaar Duty, Election duty, CAPD duty and BLO duty, besides our legitimate duty but the government has turned its eye blind towards out hardships.
Meanwhile, the protesting employees submitted a memorandum of their demands before Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla.
DC assured the protesting SBM employees that he will take up their matter with the higher ups at an earliest.
