Police solves ‘murder case’, arrests accused

Baramulla: Police in a swift action solved the mysterious murder of a woman whose dead body was recovered from an orchard at Juhama area of Baramulla in North Kashmir on Friday.
A senior police official said that police solved the murder mystery after arresting a man with the help of CCTV footage obtained from District hospital Baramulla.
“The accused was in ‘relationship’ with the slain woman and on that night had raped her in the apple orchard and later murdered her after smashing her head with a stone” the police official said.
The accused was identified by police as Gulzar Ahmad son of Ghulam Mohammad of Naidkhai Sumbal who has relatives at Delina Baramulla.
Meanwhile, police in this regard has registered a murder case under FIR number 228/2017 under section 302 in police station Baramulla.
