Higher Education Deptt to publish Mathematics, Computer Science research journal
JAMMU: As part of its series of proposed research publications on varied subjects, Higher Education Department finalized the modalities for mathematics and computer sciences journal here at a meeting chaired by Principal Secretary Dr Asgar Samoon.
The meeting was attended by senior subject faculty members of colleges from across the state through video conference.
The research based journal would carry research papers on mathematics and computer sciences contributed by the concerned faculty.
The publication aims at to help the students, scholars and faculty to keep them updated about the new developments and innovations in the fields of mathematics and computer sciences at global level. For ensuring quality content and achieving standard benchmark, the Principal Secretary called for constituting an editorial board. He asked for completing the homework to come up with the first issue in March next year.
The faculty members gave their suggestions about the title, design and periodicity of the journal and its promotion among the students, scholars and faculty members of Higher Education Department. It was decided to submit the research papers at the earliest to facilitate early publication of the journal.
It is pertinent to mention that the department has already set in the process for publication of quarterly English journal which will carry research papers on communication skills, literature and linguistics.
Dr Samoon impressed on the need to start the homework by putting in coordinated efforts and to come up with a highly research based journal to benefit the targeted readers. He further elaborated on the importance of the journal for projecting the Annual Performance Indicators (API) and overall quality enhancement which is vision of the Higher Education Department.
It was decided that the faculty members of mathematics and computer sciences shall e- mail their unpublished research papers to the coordinator of the journal Dr Raj Shree Dhar.
