Pulwama: Clashes erupted between government forces and locals in Kareemabad village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday.

Reports said that the clashes erupted after government forces started a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Kareemabad village after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

Soon after the search operation was started, locals took to streets and tried to disrupt the anti-militancy operation by pelting stones on the government forces who retaliated by firing tear smoke shells triggering clashes.

Search operation amid clashes was going on when the last reports came in.
