Sopore: Scores of employees at the Sub-District Hospital Sopore Wednesday staged protest against what they termed as ‘baseless allegations’ against their colleague.

Earlier, reports with photograph went viral on social media, alleging an employee of HDF, SDH Sopore, Irshad Ahmad had embezzled government funds to the tune of Rs 1.41 crore.

The employees denounced the allegations of funds embezzlement, terming the reports as an “inhuman act”.

The protesting employees said Irshad is being “targeted” and is not involved in any kind of fraud. “This is a character assassination,” they said.

A team was constituted by the Chief Medical Officer (CM) Baramulla, to investigate the matter and after a proper investigation, all the allegations leveled against their colleague were found baseless, president HDF employees Ghulam Mohammad told ‘Kashmir Vision’.

“This proves there is a vested interest behind the move and is a personal attack,” he said, appealing higher authorities to look into the matter and demanded strict action against the person who posted “wrong information” on social media.
