Govt committted towards empowerment of underprivileged: Minister
Jammu: Reaffirming Government’s commitment towards socio-economic empowerment of underprivileged and downtrodden sections of the society, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Parkash Ganga, today said that several measures have been launched by Centre and the State Government in this regard.
The Minister was speaking at a function organized by Rural Development Department, at Panchayat Kartholi to distribute authorization of financial assistance worth Rs 17.64 lakh and Rs 20.80 lakh among the beneficiaries under centrally sponsored schemes Swachh Bharat Mission and Pradhan Mantri AwasYojna, respectively.
It was informed that under Swachh Bharat Mission the department has provided financial assistance of Rs 12,000 each to 147 beneficiaries and Rs 1.59 lakh each to 16 beneficiaries under PMAY.
Ganga exhorted upon the people to come forward and avail maximum benefit of various social security schemes being implemented for their welfare and development. He also asked them to ensure their participation and monitoring in execution of development works being done in their respective areas for effective results.
