Fake degree racked busted in Kupwara

Kupwara: Police claimed to have busted a fake degrees racket by arresting a computer operator in Drugmulla area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Friday.

“Based on specific information regarding issuing fake qualification certificates, state subject certificates and other important documents, a raid was conducted at Shah Photostate located at main market Kupwara and recovered many fake certificates along with computers/hard disks and other accessories,” police officials said.

They said that the accused computer operator identified as Mohammad Afzal Bhat, son of  Mohammad Mukhtar Bhat, resident of Waterkhani Drugmulla has been arrested while a case under FIR number 324/2017 under section 420,468,471 RPC 74 IT Act at Police Station Kupwara was registered. “Investigation started, more arrests are expected,” they said.
