Safaie Karamchari’s protest delay in salary

Sopore: The Safie Karamchari’s (sweepers) of Urban Local Bodies Sopore Thursday put the body of an ailing employee on the road to protest against the government for failing to release their salary from past several months.

The protestors put the body of an ailing c-worker on the road in Sopore area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district as a mark of protest against the government.

The employee as per the protesters is ill and has no money to get treated.

The employees chanted slogans against the Executive Office Sopore and demanded immediate release of their pending wages.

“We are facing tremendous hardships as the authorities have failed to release our salaries from past several months,” they said, adding that the Executive Officer Sopore, Abdul Mateen has withheld their salaries for unknown reasons from past three months. Executive Officer Sopore, Abdul Mateen refused to talk over the issue, saying that “I am in a meeting can’t talk this time.”
