Aziz Bhat takes oath as President of Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam

Sopore: Newly elected President of Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam Sopore, Aziz Ahmad Bhat Thursday took the oath as the President in an oath ceremony that was held at Islamia High School Sopore.

The ceremony was held under the chairmanship of Election Board Haji Abdul Rashid Pandith and Secretary Ghulam Mohammad Bhat.

Various local organizations of Sopore town including Traders Federation, Civil Society Sopore, members of Industrial Estate Sopore, President of Jamiat-e-Islamia Sopore participated in the ceremony.

Other prominent citizens who were present on the occasion including former president of Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam, Haji Abdul Ahad Pandith, Noor din Dand, Prof M.A Charoo, Prof Ab Rashid Dar of Degree College Sopore, Ameer zillah Jamiat Islamia Sopore Mohammad Shaban, president of Traders Federation Sopore, Haji Mohammed Ashraf Ganaie, president of Civil Society Sopore, Haji Mohammad Akbar Ganaie, president of Beaupar Mandal Mohd Ashraf Zargar, Chairman of Welkin Educational Trust Sopore, Haji Anaytullah Hajni.

Earlier, Aziz Ahmad Bhat defeated its opposite candidate Advocate Lateef Ahmad Wani by a margin of 27 votes.

Bhat got 158 votes out of 290 while as 131 votes were casted in Lateef’s favour.
