Tourism deptt launches ‘Free Fly’ Kashmir Package

Srinagar: Director Tourism Kashmir Mahmood A Shah launched a ‘Free Fly’ holiday package’ exclusive for Kashmir offered by Cox & Kings – Indian’s one of the leading tour companies.

The special holiday package has been designed to give impetus to the tourist flow to Kashmir. The package offers free to and fro air ticket between Delhi and Srinagar on booking holidays to Kashmir.

Director Tourism Kashmir launched the package along with Senior Vice President of Cox & Kings Yusuf Poonawala here at Nigeen Club on Tuesday evening.

Hailing the efforts of the Cox & Kings, Director Tourism Kashmir said there is no match to the beauty of the Kashmir “but only negative media is playing spoilsport”.

“However, such packages by the leading tour companies will help in improving the tourist flow to Valley. We need customized tour packages to Kashmir for innovative marketing when other states have also upped their marketing strategies,” he said.

A special marketing team of the Cox & Kings from all states of the country arrived Srinagar on December 15, 2017 and visited valley’s most popular tourist destinations like Gulmarg, Pahalgam.

Director Tourism Kashmir said such trips to Kashmir by the leading tour companies will surely dilute the negative perception among the intending visitors.

“Seeing is believing! I am sure, you will have enjoyed the hospitality of the Kashmiris here and you will accordingly market our places to your clients,” said Mahmood Shah while addressing the Company marketing teams.

Cox & Kings Senior Vice President of Yusuf Poonawala said the package is for any traveler wishing to visit Kashmir.

“Once the traveler books the land package, we will provide him free to and fro air ticket between Delhi and Srinagar,” he announced.

He said Cox & Kings receives good number of queries from the travellers for Kashmir holidays.

He also downplayed negative media publicity by certain section of newspapers.

Giving various examples, Yusuf Poonawala said national media is blowing things out of proportions when it comes to happenings in Kashmir.
