Train services partially suspended in Kashmir

Srinagar: Train service was suspended partially in Kashmir valley on Tuesday for “security reasons” in the wake of killing of two militants in a nocturnal gunfight with government forces in Shopian district of south Kashmir.

An official said that the service was suspended on Srinagar-Banihal section.

However, train service from Srinagar-Badgam in the central Kashmir to Baramulla in north will not be affected, the official said.

He said all trains from Badgam-Srinagar to Anantnag, Qazigund in south Kashmir and Banihal in Jammu region have been suspended for “security reasons”.
