DAK demands interview Centres for Medical Officers
Srinagar: President of Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK), Dr Suhail Naik Monday appealed the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) for setting up of centre for interviews of Medical Officer (MO) posts at Srinagar.
It is pertinent to mention that result of screening test held for MO posts was recently announced by JKPSC and interviews for final selection of Medical Officers will commence very soon.
“Our state at Srinagar has been conducting other exams of national level like Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) since long in a fair and uninterrupted manner but it’s regretful that the said interviews are not being held at Srinagar during winters for unknown reasons making the candidates to suffer unnecessarily ” said Dr Naik as per the statement issued here.
Dr Naik further added that the MO interviews is scheduled to be conducted in extreme winter and it has been observed over the years in past that most of the times the roads remain blocked and air traffic is also disrupted and all the aspiring doctors who have to appear for the interview will have to travel to Jammu which will not only be arduous for them but will also hit the patient care badly as most of the candidates are working in Health department under National Health Mission(NHM) or other schemes or are undergoing residency in Medical Colleges and thus will not be available at their station.
President DAK has urged the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti to take up the matter with appropriate authorities and make it sure that the interview center is allotted to Srinagar as well so that candidates and Health Care does not suffer.
