SBM employees protest in Srinagar, demand regularization

Srinagar: All Saakshar Bharat Mission Coordinates Forum (SBM) today held a protest march at MA road in Srinagar. The contractual employees of SBM demanded that they be regularized on the same pattern as daily wagers recently.

“We appeal Hon’ble Chief Minster Mehbooba Mufti, Education Minister Altaf Bukhari, Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu that our cases may be taken into consideration as we are highly qualified and have good skills and well experienced”, the protesting employees said.

The SBM was launched by then Prime Minister in 2009 and the scheme is ending at the end of this month. The protesters said that many of them have crossed the maximum age limit under service rules.

Meanwhile, the protesters threatened that if their demands are not met, they will launch a mass agitation in both divisions of the state.
