South Kashmir youth found dead in Rajasthan

Srinagar: Body of a 19-year-old youth from south Kashmir was found hanging from a ceiling of a room in Rajasthan’s capital Jaipur on Saturday.

A police officer Sub-Inspector Baneer Singh, who has been tasked to investigate the case told Srinagar-based news agency Global News Service (GNS) over phone that police recovered the body of Zahid Ahmad Bhat hanging from the ceiling at a rented room in Muhana Mandi area of Jaipur.

“The body was hanging from the ceiling and we have taken it to Mahtama Gandhi hospital in the capital for postmortem and other legal medico formalities,” Banner Singh said. He added: ” It seems a case of suicide. We have started inquest proceedings under section 174 Cr.Pc.”

Youth’s cousin Adil Ishaq Bhat told GNS that we were informed by police about the incident on Saturday morning.

“My uncle along with some other family members have left for Jaipur by taking a flight at Srinagar International airport to get the body”, he said, adding, “The entire family is in a state of shock and as far as I know him he cannot take such a step rest will be unraveled by the police.

Zahid s/o Abdul Ahad Bhat who was adopted by his uncle had gone to Jaipur along with a truck loaded with apples some 10 days ago. Zahid who was putting up with his uncle at Chakoo, Harmain Shopian was a student of 12 Class.

Zahid was actually a resident of Hanger, Yaripora, Kulgam.
