Forces lay siege to Shopian Village

Government forces on Saturday evening started a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Kashewa Village of Chitragam tehsil in South Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Official sources said that 3 Rashtriya Rifles, 14th battalion Central reserve police and Special Operation Group (SOG) Zainapora launched a joint search operation after receiving inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

Local sources said that a large number of forces have been deployed in the area and door to door search operation was going on when the last reports came in.
