Sofi Akbar remembered on his anniversary

Sopore: On the 30th death anniversary of founder of hurriyat Mahaz Azadi sofi Mohammad Akbar, special condolence prayers were held at his graveyard in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Various pro-freedom party activists including Musadiq Aadil, Ghulam Babi Zaki Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Abdul Rashid Mughlu, Mohammad Sidique Shah, Shahid Kashmiri and Altaf Indrabi participated in the condolence prayers.

Besides, Mohammad Shaffi Lara alias Qutub Aalam, Chairman Human Rights Ahsan Untoo, Jamsheed Aadil, Nisar Ahmad Jeelani and Irshad Hussain Shah were also present on the occasion.

The leaders highlighted the sacrifices of veteran leader. “Right from his childhood, he resented the idea of being subjugated and has taken a lot of steps for the freedom movement,” they said.

During the prayers, the speakers and the pro-freedom leaders prayers for the eternal peace to the departed soul.
