32 injured in two road mishaps

Srinagar: At least thirty two people were injured Thursday in two separate mishaps in Doda and Rajouri districts of Jammu division, police said.

Twenty-five people were injured when a bus travelling on Jammu-Poonch highway skidded off the road near Chingus village of Rajouri district. The bus was on the way to Poonch town from Jammu.

According to the reports, the bus bearing registration no JK12-3751 skidded off at Kallar, Sector Chingus after the driver lost his control over the vehicle resulting in injuries to more than 25 passengers travelling in the bus.

Reports said that the injured have been rushed to District Hospital Rajouri.

Meanwhile, in another accident, seven people were injured when two passenger vehicles collided head-on in Pul Doda town on the Doda-Kishtwar Highway.

The injured were identified as Asger Ali,37, son of Abdul Qayoom, Sayeda Begum,52, wife of Abdul Qayoom, Nadiya Kousar,18, daughter of Abdul Qyoom, all residents of Gundoh, Anil Kumar,39, son of Behari Lal, Sangita Kumari, 38, wife of Zoravar Singh,  Zoraver Singh,42, son of Munshi Ram, Adiya Dev,4, son of Zoravar Singh, all residents of Kishtwar, Seela Devi,70, wife of Gulab Chand and Naresh Kumar,42.

According to the reports, the injured were admitted to a hospital.

Earlier, on November 5, fifteen passengers, including five policemen and two under-trials, were injured in a head-on collision between Matador and a Police Bus in the same area.
