Qazigund update: One militant killed in ongoing encounter
Srinagar: One militant was killed and four government forces soldiers were injured in an ongoing encounter in Nassu-Badragund area of south Kashmir’s Qazigund town.
Earlier, a gunfight broke out between militants and Government forces after militants attacked at an army convoy on Srinagar-Jammu highway.
Official sources said that militants after carried out an attack on army patrol at Bounigam leaving three soldiers injured fled away and took shelter inside a building.
As the joint team of forces intensified the searches to trace out the hiding attackers, the hiding militants fired upon Government forces triggering an encounter. When last reports came in the intermittent firing was going on.
