Qazigund Gunfight: Slain militants identified
Srinagar: Police have identified the two militants who were killed in Qazigund area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district during an encounter on Monday as Furkan and Abu Mavia of Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit.
In a tweet, Director General of police SP Vaid identified the two militants as Furkan and Abu Mavia.
He said that Furkan had taken over as Divisional commander of LeT after the death of Abu Ismail.
An army soldier was killed and another injured in the gunfight while three civilians were injured in ensuing clashes in Bounigam area of Qazigund.
