Doctors protest against ‘rude behaviour’ of SDM Pulwama

Kupwara: Doctors in northern Kupwara district on Monday condemned the alleged rude behaviour of Sub Divisional Magistrate Pulwama with a surgeon specialist at a hospital there, a day before.

The doctors wearing black bands held a protest in the district hospital permesis Kupwara demanding stern action against the SDM for his “erratic behaviour”.

“The specialist doctor had come out of operation theatre after performing a surgery just around the time SDM arrived at the hospital for supervision. The officer abused him in full public view apparently for doing nothing wrong,” Dr Ashiq Husain, vice president Kupwara doctors association told Kashmir Wire

“Such uncalled for act will not be tolerated and stern action must be taken against the officer for using unparliamentary language with the doctor on duty,” he added.

The doctors will observe a pen down strike tomorrow to press the higher authorities to take action against the officer under law. 

During a visit to the hospital in Pulwama a day before, the SDM allegedly used unparliamentary language with the surgeon expressing his disgust over health care facilities there. (Kashmir Wire)
