For 6th time in a row, PDP reposes faith in Mehbooba
Srinagar: For the sixth consecutive time, the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti was Saturday re-elected as the People Democratic Party (PDP) President at Jammu.
The elections held in Jammu started at 11:00 am in the morning in which parliament members of the PDP, party MLAs, MLCs, district and zonal presidents and senior functionaries including general secretaries and state secretaries of the PDP cast their votes.
At least 300 functionaries of the ruling PDP, its legislators and parliament members elected Mehbooba Mufti as the party president today.
Sources said that senior PDP leader and Minister Abdul Rehman Veeri was designated as the Returning Officer while Fallail Singh was discharging the duties of the Election Observer.
