Srinagar: Paying tributes to the five slain militants who were killed in Pakharpora Budgam and Saghipora Sopore encounters, Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani Thursday said that the youth lay their lives to end the age old slavery of their nation.

“They are putting a huge responsibility on our shoulders to honor these sacrifices and take the movement to its logical end,” Geelani said in a statement issued here.

Criticizing the criminal silence of the world community, Geelani said that their insensitivity and uncaring attitude is the sole reason for this unabated bloodshed.

“The world forums, who stand witness to our dispute, act as mute spectators, thereby legitimizing and legalizing the brutalities unleashed in this region for the last 70 years,” the separatist leader said.

“Had these super powers acted to their tall claims, India could not have dared to continue its repression and peace would have been ensured since long,” Geelani added.

Geelani said that the youth are on the forefront of the movement whether laying their precious lives, or livelihood, or facing hardships in jails.

He said that “they bravely and willingly offer their today for our tomorrow.”

Geelani said that this arrogance, haughtiness and persistent denial can’t hold water for long and India has to come to terms with the writing on the wall, lest this unresolved and unaddressed ‘volcano’ can erupt and burst anytime-engulfing millions of people in this region.

“Our young generation which is daring Indian autocratic rule, illegal and forced occupation will rise like a tsunami which will be uncontrollable and unstoppable,” he said.
