Police recovers kidnapped girl within 24 hours
Srinagar: Police on Friday claimed to have recovered a kidnapped girl from Kangan area of central Kashmir.
A police spokesman said that Police Station Nowgam received a complaint that a girl (name withheld) resident of Nowgam has been kidnapped by one namely Javaid Ahmad Ganaie son of Mohammad Shafi Ganaie resident of Chattabal Srinagar.
On receiving this information, a case FIR number 152/17 under section 366 RPC was registered and investigation to trace out the kidnapped girl was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, the girl was recovered from Margund Kangan area within 24 hours and the accused was arrested, the official said.
