Srinagar: Scores of people including women and children joined the Friday prayers at the historic Hazratbal shrine on famous Dal Lake to celebrate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

According to the reports, immediately after “Fajr” (morning prayers) devotees had a glimpse of Holy Relic of Prophet. The process continued after every prayer today and is expected to continue tomorrow.

National conference leaders including Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Nasir Sogami were among the devotees who prayed at the shrine.

Meanwhile, the authorities had claimed to make all arrangements, including transport, medical, power and water, for the devotees. However, the devotees staged a protest against the ill arrangement of facilities inside the shrine complex.

The protesters were shouting slogans against the Waqf Board for not making proper arrangements for the devotees.
