Temperature shows upwards trend in JK

Srinagar: With cloudy sky, the minimum temperatures across Jammu and Kashmir has shown an upward trend, the Met said.

“The present dry weather is likely to continue till Saturday or Sunday,” an official of the MET department said.

He said the minimum temperature in both Srinagar and Jammu showed improvement on Wednesday over Tuesday as Srinagar recorded 1.3 degrees against a minus 1.9 and Jammu recorded 11.0 against 9.1.

Leh town in Ladakh region recorded minus 3.7 as the minimum temperature against Tuesday’s minus 7.3 while Kargil recorded a minus 4.0 against a minus 6.4.

Among other places in the valley, Pahalgam recorded minus 1.2 and Gulmarg minus 4.0 as the minimum temperatures.

In the Jammu region, Mata Vaishno Devi base camp town of Katra recorded 10.2, Batote 8.2, Bannihal 2.4 and Bhaderwah 3.5 as the minimum temperatures on Wednesday.
