Candidates allege ‘fraudulent’ appointments in RMSA
Srinagar: Belying tall claims of the government to bring transparency in the recruitment system, candidates have accused the authorities of fraudulent selection of vocational trainers in Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA).
The dejected candidates said the authorities in RMSA had notified eight posts for Baramulla district in travel and tourism management (under RMSA) for vocational training in government secondary schools.
“But the authorities filled only five posts and the candidates who do not belong to the concerned district were appointed,” the aggrieved candidates said.
They said that the authorities had to fill the vacancies by recruiting candidates from the concerned district or from the nearby district. “But they have filled only five vacancies and candidates who have been selected belong to far off districts,” the aggrieved candidates said.
They said the RMSA authorities had kept post graduation diploma in Management (tourism and travel) / Tourism and Leisure/ Tourism and Hospitality as basic qualification, which should be of two years duration from the institution recognized by AICTE.
Interestingly, government of India under RMSA has notified 132 schools for introduction of vocational courses under various categories.
“If RMSA had notified 8 posts why only five posts were filled even if candidates were available for the post within the same district,” the dejected candidates said.
The aggrieved candidates said they have pursued the two year course from Kashmir University however, they were rejected for the post.
“This is sheer injustice with meritorious candidates. Government should probe the selection process for these posts,” the candidates said.
State Project Director (SPD) RMSA Tufail Ahmad Matoo when contacted said they will recheck the selection process to probe it properly.
“Actually we have outsourced the job to BABLE company and don’t get involved directly in the selection process. We will take up the matter with them to address the grievance of aggrieved candidates,” he said.
He said, as per his knowledge, they have filled all the eight posts wherein five were selected from Baramulla district while as rest of the three candidates from other districts.
“But if there are complaints we will resolve it on priority,” he said.
