Interlocutor spends the day in Srinagar, meets delegations
Srinagar: The centres’ new point man for Jammu and Kashmir, Dineshwar Mishra spend the day in Srinagar. Sharma, who was believed to pay a visit to South Kashmir’s Anantnag District stayed back at his office located in the posh Hari Niwas on the famed Gupkar road.
Nearly 30 delegations on Monday called on theDineshwar Sharma, to continue the process of sustained dialogue, an official sources said.
He said that Sharma started meeting delegations in the morning and was busy meeting them till late evening.
Officials in the district administration, which are facilitating the meetings of delegations, said that around 30 delegations called on Sharma at Hari Niwas.
The delegations included students from Kashmir University, Flood Victims, Radio Kashmir employees, State Employees of SRO 202, Peace Front Kupwara, an NGO, Khadi Gram Udyog Federation, PoK migrants group, among others.
Official sources said the delegations raised the issues of basic facilities, resolution of Kashmir issue through peaceful means and lack of good governance in the state.
Sharma is on the second leg of his visit to the state which began from Jammu. He arrived in Srinagar on Saturday and paid a visit to Pulwama on Sunday. Sharma is likely to visit Anantnag town today meet the delegations there.
Pertinently, till now, major stakeholders like the separatist Hurriyat and prominent trade bodies of the valley have stayed away from an rendezvous with the interlocutor.
Earlier, he visited the state and met nearly 100 delegations, political, apolitical and civil society groups.
