Srinagar: Former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah Monday stoked yet another controversy after he dared Prime Minister Narinder Modi to unfurl the tricolor in Srinagar’s historil Lalchowk.

“They are talking of raising flag at Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PaK). I ask them, first go and raise the Tricolour at Lal Chawk in Srinagar. They can’t even do that here and they are talking about PaK,” Farooq was quoted as having said by a New Delhi based private news channel.

He also expressed concerns over the “worsening security situation” in the state and said the New Delhi has to frame its response vis-a-vis Pakistan for bringing peace in the region. Terming the meetings of Interlocutor Dineshwar Sharma, with people as a ‘formality’, Abdullah said that peace would be achieved only when ‘sincere and serious efforts’ were made.
