The error was pointed out by the netizens who sarcastically took a dig at the authorities especially those who have been at the helm of publicity wing of the department. Former Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) working president Omar Abdullah took to Twitter to ridicule the incident sarcastically.

“Well done J&K Rural Development Department. You found an extra day in the year for the department to function,” he wrote on Twitter.

Some netizens asked the concerned department as to why was not the error spotted while the calendars were being printed and later distributed.

Interestingly, the department has issued many calendar and in different sizes and shapes. However, the error was spotted only on the wall calendars.

According to the sources, the funding for the calendars comes from the NREGA promotions and in the calendar, there is no mention of any centrally sponsored scheme.

“The calendar is full of events organized and attended by the higher-ups of the department,” said an insider.

“In the whole calendar, the concerned minister is promoting himself. Did you see any picture where there is any promotion for any scheme except some pictures in the background,” an official at Rural Development department, wishing anonymity said.

Faced with criticism the Minister for Rural Development Department, Abdul Haq Khan said that the error was committed from the publisher’s side and the department did not check it.

“This is indeed an error by the publisher & not cross checked by us. Error ws (was) detected a Yr (year) later. Next time V (we) will be cautious indeed,” he wrote on Twitter.
