Srinagar: As more families are seen taking to social media to plead return of their militant members, in the aftermath of return of footballer Majid Khan, Hizbul Mujahideen Commander Riyaz Naikoo has reportedly issued a statement  on the instances that are fast gaining momentum as a trend.

In a 7 minute audio message that has gone viral on various social media platforms, Naikoo accuses security agencies of forcing the families of the militants to record videos pleading return of their militant members.

“ After Majid Khan returned home, not a single family has issued appeals of return to their members on their own. It is security agencies that forces the families to record such videos. These are tactics of forces to weaken our resolve but we want to assure everyone that neither the families want to force our boys back nor do the boys themselves want to return,” Naikoo is heard saying in the statement.

“We didn’t allow Majid to return only because of his mother’s pleas but because of the fact that he himself wanted to return,” he added.

Addressing mothers of the militants, Naikoo has said that to be part of the armed fight is imperative and that emotions alone won’t work. “Hence the boys are out to fight,” he says in the video message.

He is also heard saying that militant outfits are meticulous in choosing who to take into their fold as an active militant although thousands of youngsters are emotionally ready and ‘queuing’ up to join their ranks.
