Providing employment to youth Govt’s top priority: Minister

Jammu: Industries and Commerce Minister Chander Parkash Ganga today described the skill development initiative as game changer in employment generation adding that hundreds of educated youth of state are getting opportunity to work with top corporate houses of the country.

“Their dream of working in big cities and metros with top Corporate Houses and MNCs has become a reality as the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided them wings of skill development and a platform to take off their successful flight into the professional career” the Minister said after inaugurating a job Fair here at Calvary Mission School.

The job fair was organized by Pradhan Mantri Koushal Kendra (PMKK) and executed by Orion Edutech which is a funded partner of National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

Around 350 students from different institutes were imparted training in different skills and provided the opportunity for on spot recruitment in different state and national level companies.

Wishing the candidates, a bright future, the Minister said providing employment opportunity to every youth was the top priority of the centre and state government.

  “Such job fairs are aimed at to encourage skill development among youth, offer them job opportunities and provide exposure to corporate India towards the rich talent pool available in J&K” Ganga asserted.

Chairman PMKK Samba PardeepMasish, ADC TR Sharma, ASP   Adil Hamid, DySP Tanveer Ahmed, State head JKSICOP Ali Mohammed along with other dignitaries and hundreds of young aspirants were present on the occasion.

Earlier, I&C Minister launched various developmental works being executed by Rural Development Department in his home constituency Vijaypur. Minister laid foundation stone of a playground at Village Bari which will be constructed at the estimated cost of Rs 9 lakh.

 Later, Minister laid foundation stone of a road at GurahSalathia. It was informed that initially, Rs 10 lakh are being provided for the levelling of the road, while blacktopping work would be done by the PWD department. The Minister directed the concerned to complete the works in stipulated time and adhere to quality norms.

Meanwhile, the Minister toured the area and took stock of local issues. The locals informed the Minister about various issues pertaining to development of the area. He assured them that all their genuine demands would be considered at the earliest.
