Srinagar: Following media reports suggesting that the President of Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Shabir Ahmad Shah’s health has deteriorated in Delhi’s Tihar jail, his supporters today lodged a protest against the alleged denial of treatment to Shah.

Supporters of Shah reached Press Enclave shortly around  noon and started raising slogans against the authorities for denial of  treatment to Shah in Delhi’s Tihar Jail.

Talking to reporters they said Shah was innocent and has been implicated in a case which is 12 years old. A court has absolved Shah of the charges in 2005 but the authorities have implicated him in the same case now which is great injustice.

They blamed the authorities for neither providing treatment to shah nor allowing him to visit hospital for treatment which has endangering his life. “We want the authorities to take shah to a reputed hospital for treatment otherwise they will be held responsible if anything happens to Shah”, they said.

Before they could end the talk, a posse of policemen came and bundled the supporters of shah in the police van and lodged them in the nearby Kothibagh police station. (Kashmir Wire)
