Thousands bid adieu to slain militant

Pulwama: Thousands participated in the funeral prayers of the slain Hizb militant Adil Rasheed Chopan who was killed in an encounter with government forces in Tral area of Pulwama district yesterday.

Adil Rashid Chopan, who was killed in a gunfight in Seer village of Tral township, was laid to rest at the martyrs’ graveyard in Lurow where thousands of people attended his funeral prayers.

Adil was rescued by locals during a gunfight in which Hizb commander Sabzar Bhat and his associate Faizan Bhat were killed in Saimoh, Tral in May this year.

Meanwhile a complete shutdown is being observed in Tral town and Internet services have also been suspended by authorities following the killing.

Earlier large number of people including women and children came to his house and we’re seen mourning his killing.
