Bread makers fined
Srinagar: Field executives of Legal Metrology Department (LMD) under the supervision of Joint Controller Legal Metrology Kashmir today conducted a surprise inspection of various markets in Ishbar Nishat area of Srinagar.
During the inspection, the team visited a number of breadmaking shops after receiving complaints that breads they make are underweight. A number of erring traders were penalized and Rs 10,000 was collected as fine.
Pertinently, the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Kashmir have fixed the price of per 60-gram bread at Rs 5. The consumers are informed to contact the Department on 0194-2490274 and 0194-2490390 or e-mail complaints at [email protected].
