Over a dozen shops gutted in south Kashmir blaze

Anantnag: Over a dozen shops and buildings were damaged in fire in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district in the wee hours of Monday.

According to the reports, property worth crores of rupees has been damaged in the devastating fire in the commercial hub of the district.

They said that the fire broke out in major commercial hub Cheni Chowk and Reshi Bazar in Anantnag, about 55 km from here in Anantnag district at 0200 hours. About a dozen tenders were rushed from different parts of the district to control the leaping flames, clearly visible from a distance.

Sources said that more than a dozen buildings and shops were damaged in the fire which was brought under control after about four hours.
