Srinagar: Veteran separatist leader and Hurriyat Conference (G), Chairman, Syed Ali Geelani Friday said that Indian judiciary is not conducting a fair trial against Kashmiris and is rather following its ‘bias approach’ to satisfy ‘collective conscience of their nation’.

Geelani, while terming the slapping of 36th Public Safety Act (PSA) on Muslim League Chairman Masarat Aalam Bhat as “state terrorism”, said that the act is highly condemnable.

Referring to “prolonged and unlawful detention” of Masarat Aalam Bhat, Geelani said, “Aalam is languishing in jail since long, however, it is quite disheartening that he is being subjected to vengeance by state authorities.”

Blaming Indian authorities for unabated human rightist’s violation in state and reiterating his pledge to carry the mission for right to self-determination to its logical end, Geelani said that “Indian authorities are relying on their seven lakh armed forces personnel, bias judiciary and partial media to subjugate the local population.”

Referring to “prolonged and unlawful detention and framing fake charges against Shabir Ahmed Shah, by enforcement directorate and extending judicial remand till December 15th by NIA against Ayaz Akbar, Peer Saifullah, Raja Meraj u Din Kalwal, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Shahid-ul-Islam and Nayem Ahmed Khan, Syed Ali Geelani expressed his dismay and added that “Indian judiciary is not doing a fair trial and rather following its bias approach to satisfy “collective conscience of their nation.”

Terming it “sheer vengeance and bias attitude”, Geelani said, “NIA failed to prove any substantial proof or evidences against the Hurriyat leaders, hence there is no moral or legal justification to detain them.”

Referring to the illegal detention of Salah u Din’s son, Shahid Yousuf, Photo journalist Kamran Yousuf and Zahoor Ahmad Watali, Geelani added that they were also indicted falsely and detained and lodged in Tihar Jail.

“It is extreme unfortunate that on the directions of a callous police officer deputed in district Baramulla, 80-year-old Tehreek-e-Huriyat leader, Shah wali Mohammad has been detained in police station Sopore,” said Geelani.

He said that his wife is suffering from cancer and her daughter is handicapped and there is no male member to look after their family.
