Protest in Pattan against PDD

Pattan: The people from Pattan in north Kashmir’s  Baramulla district  held protest demonstration against PDD authorities at at Pattan against Power Development Department on Friday.

Protesters residing in Tali Mohalla, Khanday Mohalla and Miyan Mohalla of Pattan hit the highway and started protesting against the PDD for delaying repairing of their defunt transformer.

“The whole area is reeling under dark and is causing great  inconvenience to common people there” said one of the protester Ghulam Qadir. He said their locality is reeling under darkness since last 15 days.

The protesters were shouting slogans against PDD and district administration.

The engraved protesters blocked the Srinagar-Muzaffaabad highway against the PDD’s failure to repair the defunct transformer causing a massive traffic jam in the town.

However administration acted swiftly and assured protests to redress their hardships on priority basis.

Tehsildar Pattan Mr Syed Faheem along with SHO Pattan Mr M. Saleem pacified the protesters.

Later protesters dispersed peacefully and national highway was restored.
