Minister pacifies protesting students, gives them option of re-appearing in exams
Srinagar: Minister for education Syed Muhammad Altaf Bukhari on Saturday stated that class 12 students will get second chance to appear in their Chemistry paper.
The development comes at a time when class 12th students after appearing in their Chemistry paper complained that the paper was out of syllabus and of high standard.
Bukhari made the announcement while talking to protesting students at Press Enclave in Srinagar on Saturday and said those students who are complaining about the paper can appear again.
The minister de-boarded from the vehicle in Srinagar Press enclave while students were protesting and inquired from the students why they were protesting.
In response the students said, “Our chemistry paper was out of syllabus. We want its fresh examination,” the students told the education minister.
The minister after listening to the students assured them that the students “who have a complaint and feel they need to appear afresh in the chemistry paper will be given another chance.”
He however, said those who are satisfied with the performance in already held chemistry question paper don’t need to appear afresh.
With this the students dispersed off peacefully.
The ongoing class 12 regular Board of School Education (BOSE) exams commenced from November with 99 percent attendance of students at 496 exams centres.
