Srinagar: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Hansraj Ahir, on Friday said that the Modi government is working to resolve the issue of Pakistan administered Kashmir (PaK).

Hansraj Ahir said that PaK is part of India as per agreement made by Maharaja Hari Singh but it has been under Pakistani occupation.

“Under leadership of PM Modi we have the power and will to solve this matter. PM is working in this direction and it will be resolved soon,” Ahir said.

However, former chief Minister and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah took a dig at the BJP government.

Omar in a series of tweets said the “Instrument of Accession that made J&K a part of the Union kept all powers with the state baring currency, communication, defence and foreign affairs.”

“You can’t pick the parts of the Instrument of Accession that suit the politics of the BJP while conveniently abrogating responsibility for the rest.”

In another tweet, he said: I love how when it suits them they quote the Instrument of Accession signed by the Maharaja. What about the part guaranteeing J&K’s autonomy?” , questioned Omar.
