“If any coaching centre is found functioning without registration, same should be brought into the notice of the standing committee so that action is taken against the said elements under law,” he said.

G N  Itoo said the a standing committee stands constituted in every district which is headed by additional deputy commissioner (ADC) to monitor the functioning of private coaching centres.

Meanwhile, as per the list submitted by the inspection team all the seven coaching centres whose registration has been cancelled were operating in Parraypora area of Srinagar.

“Zed education was closed on spot while as Branic coaching institute was operating without possessing any registration of department and was closed on spot,” reads the report submitted by the inspection team.

It is pertinent to mention that directorate had given registration to only 182 private coaching centres in the month of October.

“The registration was issued on basis of certain conditions but these tuition centres didn’t fulfill the criteria laid down by the competent authority which resulted in cancelation of their registration,” Itoo said.

He said all the coaching centres which will be found operating in violation of norms will be sealed. “And the inspection will be conducted in every district to put a control on this menace,” he said.

Notably, several private coaching centres without registration, offer coaching classes to students for their appearance in competitive exams as well as for coaching in class 11 and 12th.
