Vohra tells CM to ‘pull up’ non-performing departments

JAMMU: Governor N N Vohra on Thursday asked the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for enforcement of a stringent approach in regard to all departments which were not performing adequately.

Vohra during an hour long meeting with the Chief Minister also discussed various important matters relating to the affairs of the State.

Governor suggested to Chief Minister the enforcement of a stringent approach in regard to all departments which were not performing adequately. Vohra also discussed with Ms. Mufti the significant advantage of there being no delay in commencing the process of conducting elections to the Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies, an official handout issued here said.

Governor and the Chief Minister discussed, among other matters, the internal security situation in the Valley, the functioning of various departments, particularly the Power Development Department, Social Welfare Department, Information Department and the Sports and Youth Affairs Department and the extent to which results had been achieved to secure the targeted goals.

Governor reiterated his concern about ensuring prompt attention to public grievances, efficient delivery of public services and severe punishments to those involved in corrupt practices.
